Where could I download the major version of iMovies?

The iTunes App Store.
I see you are asking this about the iOS version of iMovie. To update iMovie, go to the App Store and then tap on uptades. then tap on the update button beside the iMovie icon. Then do your password (If your running iOS 5 or earlier, if your running iOS 6 or later, you won't need one.) Then wait for iMovie to update. If you go to the App Store and then tap on updates and the iMovie logo is NOT there, that's means you have the latest version of iMovie. The latest version of iMovie as of this writing is version 1.4.1

Thanks for your kind answer, but this only partially solved my problem 🙂 I do have an update shown for iMovie in the App store, but every time I tap to get it, I receive the same message " You cannot update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software." That's why I asked which one is the major version of this software. If you could help me more, I would owe you. 🙂

Hello! I think I can help you, but I need some info. First, is the iMovie you are trying to update for Mac or iOS? Second, if it is for mac, did it come with your mac or did you pay for it? Third, did you get it from a friend or from another apple ID? If it is, you are probably are not signed into that persons apple ID. Try signing out of your apple ID and signing in to the apple ID of whoever paid for the program. Try updating it again. It should work.

I think I found out how to do it! Instead of trying to update it in the updates tab, try searching "iMovie" in the app store. Then beside the iMovie icon, you should see a update button. Tap on it. It should update now.

Here it is some info you asked for in the previous message: I'm trying to get iMovie for Mac (I bought the app for iOS). I'm almost sure it came with my mac. I didn't get it from any friend, but it's very possible to have had a different ID at that time, because I remember I was in trouble creating the first ID (something kept on going wrong 🙂 and I decided to create a different one some days after). Since then I've been using the current one which works, but I seem not to remember the data for the other one, if that's the case...
