unable to change Verizon FIOS password with Safari 6.04
At myverizon.com, under the My Verizon tab, in the profile section, I clicked on Change My Password. I now have a screen with a field for Old Password,
a second field for New Password, and a third field for Confirm New Password. All as expected, except there is no Continue or OK button, or any button at all to get Verizon to change the password! Same thing with the latest version of Chrome.
It took me a long time, but I finally reached by phone a Verizon tech support guy in web issues and he seemed amazed that I could see no Continue button.
If you have this problem, here is the workaround the support guy used. He reset the password on my account with a temporary password. That took me to a page with a field for the temporary password, new password, and confirm password, with a Submit button (Hallelujah!). And wonder of wonders, clicking on Submit actually changed my password.
I am in Massachusetts, and am in the process of changing from Comcast Xfinity to Verizon FIOS because I only want Internet and Phone and Comcast jacked up my rates from under $50 when I started with them to $93.94 for Internet and phone and Verizon was willing to save me $24/mo for 24 months, if I went for 15/5 for speed. Right now my Comcast speed is testing at about 25 down and 4.4 up. For a savings of $576 over that 2 years, I can live with the slower download speed.
But Verizon's website is terrible, at least on a Mac. Which may go to show that you get what you pay for.
