May 28, 2013 3:50 PM in response to rebookby Csound1,You need Real Player for Real Media movies, there is (or was) a Mac version, and it was free.

It's an odd format, never was supported well and is clearly vanishing now. There used to be a converter but I haven't seen it since Moses embarked on his trek.

May 28, 2013 4:07 PM in response to Csound1by OGELTHORPE,Csound1, greetings; The few times I watch video, if Quicktime does not work, VLC is the fall back application and that rarely fails. I looked in my Applications Folder and I note I have RealPlayer.app but don't ask me when is the last time I had to use it. My memory banks are not that good.
Ciao.

May 28, 2013 5:00 PM in response to Csound1by rebook,I will try VLC. The one that didn't work because there was no sound was Flip4Mac -- when I looked it up the sound issue seemed a common problem.
Thanks for your response.

May 28, 2013 6:53 PM in response to Csound1by rebook,The files are wmv and also rm. So I quit trying to get the rm file to work. (The Flip4MAC did not give me sound for either one)
Tonight I downloaded VLC and tried to get it to convert the wmv file. It did, but the sound is not there. I can't figure out why it didn't convert the audio.
The file name is 5_27_2013_hi_vid.wmv
