You need Real Player for Real Media movies, there is (or was) a Mac version, and it was free.

It's an odd format, never was supported well and is clearly vanishing now. There used to be a converter but I haven't seen it since Moses embarked on his trek.

Csound1, greetings;  The few times I watch video, if Quicktime does not work, VLC is the fall back application and that rarely fails.  I looked in my Applications Folder and I note I have RealPlayer.app but don't ask me when is the last time I had to use it.  My memory banks are not that good.

Flip4Mac should play the .wmv file just fine, make sure that you downloaded the latest version. (available here)
