Q: Forwarding to an external email address?

I have followed the steps in the above article but to no avail.

I am running OSX Lion and using terminal I have set up mail forwarding.

My server.app is configured succesfully to manage mail for    mydomain.com

One of my users is no longer with us, but we want to keep his mailbox active for the time being. We are trying to forward his emails to another email address at a secondary domain.

The secondary domain is not managed by this OSX Lion server.app

When I use terminal to get mail forwards everything appears to be configured correctly, however the email is not being forwarded.

Any advice you can provide on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Will

Easy way: set up a short name specifying the email address that you want the user to receive the mail for, for whichever user will be receiving the messages.  Either the target user's shortname, or the full email address, depending on how your OS X Server is configured.

If you want to set up lower-level forwarding, see the Postfix documentation and see the 10.6 OS X Server mail server documentation; AFAIK, the low-level forwarding set-up is the same.
