Any Ideas using windows 8 to transfer photos and videos? My storage on my IPad is full and I can't get my home videos transfered.

If the Photos and Videos were taken with the iPad, simply connect the iPad to the Windows 8 Computer using the provided cable, and open Windoes Explorer. The iPad should Appear as a Camera, and you can access the photos directly through explorer by double clicking on the iPad icon You can then Copy, or drag and drop the pictures to a folder on your computer.
Once you have them you can delete them from the iPad.

But if i have taken these videos and music files from other systems itunes,can i transfer them to my system via itunes?
No, not directly. synced videos and photos cannot be transferred off using iTunes. You will need to copy them onto a USB drive from the source, or use a 3rd party software to access the Photo Library on your iPad.
Videos/pics taken with your iPad can be transferred to your computer just like you would with any camera, for example, Windows Explorer on PC or iPhoto on Mac.
