How do I transfer photos and videos from my IPad to my computer that has a Windows 8 operating system?

Any Ideas using windows 8 to transfer photos and videos? My storage on my IPad is full and I can't get my home videos transfered.

iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 6.1.3

If the Photos and Videos were taken with the iPad, simply connect the iPad to the Windows 8 Computer using the provided cable, and open Windoes Explorer. The iPad should Appear as a Camera, and you can access the photos directly through explorer by double clicking on the iPad icon You can then Copy, or drag and drop the pictures to a folder on your computer.


Once you have them you can delete them from the iPad.
