time capsule with airport

I have a Mac, a Notebook, several ipads, iphones and have been using airport extreme fine. I also bought the 2.0 TB time capsule to backup everything and have had nothing but problems getting and keeping it connected. Can anyone make suggestions? My AirPort Extreme is connected to my cable modem.

Time Capsule 802.11n (4th Gen), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

The Time Capsule needs to be setup as the primary router on a network as described in article:

You do not have to have the TC as main router.. but it is convenient.

If the TC is bridge mode and plugged into the Extreme by ethernet it should be fine.
