Can't export mixed movie from GarageBand

Can't export mixed movie from GarageBand

I've often mixed sound and music onto movies with GarageBand in the past, with great success. But today it seems like GarageBand doesn't want to play. I use the Share > Export Song To Disk window, select my settings, and GB goes through its paces... but no mixed movie file ever appears. I've tried sending the file to other destinations, tried changing the export settings, no luck. (Yes, I've turned on the Movie Track.)

BTW, on a separate but related note: when I use Expert Settings, I get an exported file, but it contains an audio mix and one still image of the movie!

Am I doing something wrong, or is there a bug that affects others as well?

Hmmm... Looks like I can export the movie using the "Apple TV" setting, but not the "Full Quality" or "Expert Settings." So my problem is partially solved, but I'm still left wondering why the other two don't work...

Hey Adam, did you ever find a solution? I'm running into my own problem with exporting Quicktime files in Garageband. Maybe you or someone else could help.

I import a .mov file. I compress it, EQ it, etc. The Movie Track is shown. I click Share, but there is no Export Movie To Disk option. The only option is Export Song To Disk. Because of this, I can only get an audio file. There is no option to export it as a movie file of any kind. I need the movie as well so I can submit it as an audition tape. I've been looking EVERYWHERE online for a solution, and nobody has one. Please, anybody give me some advice. I've already spent way too much time on this, and contacting Apple about it is impossible. Thanks.

The Export to Movie command is in the File Menu ➤ Movie ➤ Export Audio to Movie

In my humble opinion, Apple has completely ruined the Garageband application. I loved working with the old format and luckily I still have a computer with the old program running. I can no longer sync sound and movie, what's up with that and everything seems backward and hard to work with. It's the same with iMovie. I don't know why they take good programs and make them worse??????? I'm totally frustrated and disappointed at Apple right now.
