iPod not recieving wifi signals properly

So my house is quite large and when I go to the basement that's the only place where my iPod receives wifi signals from the network. But if I go anywhere else like upstairs it won't have any wifi connection and it can't find our wifi.

The router does not have a problem because my iPad mini and computer ect. can receive wifi in the attic or anywhere else without being close to the router!

Does your iPod have this problem other networks?

Did your iPod work OK before with your network?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Power off and then back on the router

- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
