MacBook Pro Retina Display - Crack/Pixel explosion?
A week or so ago I noticed what looked to be a spec of dirt on my 6 month old MacBook Pro retina screen. However it actually is some sort of chip/crack in the display. There are a few pixels which are now permanently white and you can see the hole with the naked eye and feel it quite easily. It almost looks as if a pen or something has been jammed into the screen but I take good care of my MacBook and haven't caught anything on the screen as far as I'm aware.
I did a search on here and saw that several people have reported "pixel explosions" where dead pixels have burned a hole into the screen. I took my MacBook into the Apple with printouts of several discussions of others reporting the same problem with a hole in the screen but the Genius refused to do anything in my case. She basically said it was impossible for the hole to be anything but my fault despite the forum threads I showed her. Is it worth me taking it into a different Apple store for a second opinion or am I stuck with this annoying hole in the bottom left of my screen forever?
