Yahoo! only will not load

I have been experiencing a problem with Yahoo! ONLY for over 3 months now. No matter what I do or try, nothing seems to correct the issue. When arrive at Yahoo!'s home page (irregardless of how I arrive there) all of the content is listed on the left side of the screen as if there is a compatability issue. No images load, just blue text in hyperlink form, all on the left side. If I click "Sign In" it tells me "Safari cannot connect to the server." If I click "Fantasy Baseball" it brings to an almost identical list style page with everything on the left side but inlcudes the following at the top of the partially loaded page:

I have cleared all my data and my history. I also and am not experiencing anything like this with any other websites. I am running Safari Version 6.0.3. I can use Yahoo! just fine with my iPad and iPhone. If someone could please offer me some advice on what to do because I have exhausted my limited knowledge and capabilities.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration,

Michael

Try updating to Safari 6.0.4

Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen.

From the drop down menu click Software Update.

Keep in mind accessing Yahoo on your iPad or iPhone, that's a different operating system.

Try troubleshooting plugins and extensions.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab.

Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins

Quiit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that didn't help, select the Extensions tab from the Preferences pane.

If there are any installed, turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that helped, uninstall one extension at a time then test.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

Step 1

The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.

Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”

While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.

Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?

After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.

*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

Step 2

The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.

Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.

The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.

Test while in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I was extremely overwhelmed in last 2 months and was unable to address your post until now.

The same problem persisted when I signed in under Guest, but the problem was completely non-existant when I booted up under Safe Mode. (I also noticed that after the long load time, everything was very fast, especially including websites. I don't know if this is usual or if it is just an indicator that I need to clean up my Mac).

So under Safe Mode, I was able to fully use Yahoo!'s website and also was able to have a successful "Test your system" test for NFL.com fantasy football live draft lobbies (I noticed last week that for some reason I could not test my system or launch a mock draft lobby on NFL.com's fantasy football site).

When I rebooted in the regular mode, Yahoo!'s home page loaded perfectly (it never did before), but it was short lived because everything I clicked sent me to a similar "Failed to open page" error page and then Yahoo's home page failed to load when I tried to go back to it. I also experienced the issues as before on NFL.com's fantasy football site.

Thank you for your response. I just completed the software update but am unfortunately still experiencing the same problem. I am now running Safari 6.0.4.

I mentioned the use of my iPad and iPhone because I can access Yahoo! with them using the same internet connection as my Macbook Pro. I am not sure if that is relevant, but I figured it would try and put as much info as I could think of down since I can't figure out where the issue is originating.

Thank you for the suggestions. I deselected "Allow all other plug-ins" and then relaunched Safari. When I pulled Yahoo! back up, it was still not loading.

I have some extensions installed but I have had them turned off for some time now. Just to be sure, I tried turning them on and off and Yahoo! wouldn't load either way.

Ahhhhhh! This is just making me hate Yahoo!, I don't understand how nothing will fix this.

Apologies, in my excitement/haste I unintentionally clicked the "This solved my question" icon. While I am obviously optimistic you will be able to help me resolve my issue, I didn't want it to show as resolved and you miss my last paragraph of my response to you which states my issue was not resolved once rebooting after safe mode. Sorry for any confusion. Thank you
