DFU Mode not recognised in iTunes?

Hi everyone :) Recently I put my iPod into DFU mode, to do a restore. However, when I put it into DFU mode, iTunes did not regocnise it. I'm aware that recovery mode is a similar thing, but I'm worrying about the DFU mode. I'm on an iPod Touch 4th Generation running iOS 6.1.3. I put another iPod running on the same software in DFU mode and its regocnised. Does anyone know why mine is not being recognised? Thanks in advance :)

Does it charge/get warm when connected?

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Try this:

1.Unplug your iPod from the computer.

2.Press down the Home and Power buttons on your iPod Touch until it shuts off.

3.Connect it to your computer with the USB cable.

4.Press and hold down the Home button.

5.Hold it down until iTunes says your device has entered recovery mode.

6.Now you should be able to Restore using iTunes.
