Restore Mac Pro to factory HELP

I just recently got a new iMac i7 and gave my Mac Pro gen 1 to my dad... We are trying to get it back to factory specs. We have the original install discs (tiger) that came with the computer so we started there. Disc 1 installed with no problems, but disc two will not go on for some reason. I don't think it's the discs because the discs are mint condition. We also tried to reboot while holding down COMAND & R but that doesn't work we just find ourselves back at the "install disc 2 menu" with all options greyed out. Maybe someone here can help, if not I think we'll take it to the apple store.

Thank you,

Craig

Hi Craig,

Insert disc #1, hold option or alt key at bootup to select #1, Hold Mouse button also at bootup if you need to eject Disc#2.

That second Disc thing happens frequently, the best way around it is to do a Custom install, and eliminate enough Printer Drivers, Languages, Fonts, and Applications you don't need... then it may skip #2 altogether.
