cannot delete files

Hello

I have been using Mac since 2 years ago. Recently I ran into some weird problems with my macbook pro , Mountain Lion OS. When I delete files from the Finder, it asks for password, pretends that it moves files into the Trash (with the noise). And the files are still there. I have read several recommendations about permission of admin needs to be changed and repair disk and restart the computer...nothing has worked so far. 😟 . Can anyone help to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Is the issue occuring with files stored in your home folder? If so, try resetting the home folder permissions.

Boot to recovery (CMD+R on startup).

Click on 'Utilities' from the top menu bar and open terminal.

Type resetpassword into the terminal window and press return.

Select your startup volume and the affected user account.

Press the reset button at the bottom of the window.

Home folder permissions for that user account should now be reset.

Restart and try again.
