Should my purchased tv show need to buffer?

I recently downloaded some Grey's Anatomy Episodes on my computer. They downloaded fine, but when I try to play them, connected to wifi or not, they start skipping about 30 seconds into the episode and then the audio gets out of sync. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do?
