I have re-ripped my CDs as high resolution M4A files, replacing older MP3 files. So I need to add these new files to iTunes and delete the old ones. My idea is to delete the .itl and .xml files and just rebuild the iTunes library. Will work?

Is there another way to do it? The files are on a network drive - no recycle bin. So I can't just select all the files and delete them.

Thanks
