Anyone deployed had to send a MacBook Pro in for repairs?

Anyone deployed had to send a MacBook Pro in for repairs? tried all the tricks, button combinations, safemode, backup etc...and tips, but mine still shuts down. the blinking globe is getting annoying since its the last thing i see before it shutsdown. Im thinking a virus/corrupt hard drive. How much do repairs cost, does it erase everything?
