GPS on iPhone

Is there a way to get better GPS-Signals to the iPhone? Bluetooth is an option, but it consumes a lot of power. So I prefer an external GPS-Antenna. But where do I connect the ext. antenna? Dock connector? If you are a developer and you've got an idea ... pls tell me ... 😉
