French Pop Genre

Has the French Pop Music genre been removed from iTunes (iLife '06)? Even though I highlight the French Pop selection, the genre column will not produce any selections, except to say "choose genre". Is there an Apple obstacle to overcome or just a technical deletion? Any help/information will be appreciated.

G4 G5, Mac OS X (10.3.9)
