I'm trying to install Win7 64bit home edition original on my mac pro 2,1 with bootcamp v4.
Created the partition (32Gb), created the drivers cdrom, the mac restart to install win7, but after the black screen the installation stops and the message:

select cd rom boot type: _
but pressing any key on my keyboard has no results.... any suggestion please??

Turn off your computer and turn it on while holding the Option (Alt) key until you see all bootable volumes in the screen. Then, select the Windows option with a DVD and the installer will start. Then, follow these steps > http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_10.7.pdf
already done one hour ago but after choosing the windows dvd icon I get the same message 😟
I have the exact problem on the exact same mac. Any luck with this?
1. Disconnect all external storage.
2. If you have any RAID sets, they need to be physically removed.
3. Run a SMC and NVRAM Reset

4. Remove all disks which will not participate in Windows installation. Only the OSX disk, and the designated Windows disk (if different from the OSX disk) should be connected. Run BC Assistant, and insert your DVD/CD.
I've done all of this, and still get the same results. Any other suggestions?
Did you create the partition manually? If you are in OS X , can your read the Windows Installer DVD?
