iMac g4 1.25mhz monitor problem
I have an iMac G4 1.25mhz. The power supply died. I replaced it, and the boot tone plays, but the monitor is black. No power light on monitor either. Help!
iMac, iOS 5.1.1

I have been reading and researching, and I noticed that the solution to iMac G4 monitor dark problem is too often to plug in an external monitor. Most of us iMac owners can afford a "better" computer, but would rather have the ORIGINAL iMac 100% working. Display and all.
My problem is (I believe) the inverter assembly, or the video cable. From what I've read, the inverter could just go out, or in the re-assembly process the video cable could very possibly get pinched or otherwise damaged. The video cable is VERY delicate.
I don't know how to tell which is the problem.
I am having the same problem with my g4. When I went to a repair place to ask about it they said its time to get a new one. I do not like that option. So I would really like to know how to fix it. Mine was working one night I put it to sleep and I thought it would not wake up in the morning. Not the case. I am going to have to see what it looks like in a dark room.
I turned it on tonight, in a dark room. The screen dim, but visible on the left, and almost black on right. What to do.
Isn't there a vga out port on this machine?
Robert
I believe so, but I would like to get the built in monitor working.
