I ahve formatted my back USB HD using my Win7. I can open my MS office file using my Mac but i cannot save it the same hard disk. Prompt says the "hard drive maybe write protective" or the file is read-only. How shall i do it? What do i need to do? I am amatuer using Mac so i need help. Thanks for your feedback.

Which format did you use for the USB drive?
As Csound1 has asked which format did you use for your USB drive? By default, MacOS does not have the proper drivers to write to NTFS formatted drives, which would also be the most likely format that you would have used for your USB drive for Windows 7...
1st, In saying so, I have to re-format my USB using Mac OS. Fine, I can do that and loose all my file from Win7 then. Or I have to re-do all of it in Mac MS office. Would you think that would reasonable to do?
2nd, what happen to parallel desktop software that always been advertised that MS Office files created in Win7 will be compatible to my MS Office software in Mac OS (i watched the video sayin' so). I just got my Parallel Desktop software few days ago but i hesitated to install it since I am scared of losing all my Win7 files which are my office stuff things. Will this Parallel desktop thing help fix the problem? Or I just have to go back to zero, meaning reformat my disk using Mac OS and losing all my Win 7 MS office files?
