Weird Bug in 10.7.5 Finder Folder Display - Icons Embedded in Titlebar

I will be moving to OS 10.8, however, I have encountered a finder display bug in 10.7.5 that I have never seen before on any Apple OS going back to Mac SE's. Basically, when I open a folder window - e.g., Mac HD, or any folder, in he bar just beneath the title of the folder (e.g., "Macintosh HD") these is a small Pages icon with the file title in text beneath that. It's really weird. If you roll your cursor over the Pages file icon a type of "help" window shows the file path of the Pages doc that's embedded in your folders header. The file path is accurate. If you remove the doc from that folder, the Pages icon remains.

How do I get rid of this, short of upgrading right now to 10.8?

CMD-click and drag the icon off the toolbar. That usually happens when you drag a file onto a Finder window toolbar.
