Well, I went to App store and looked for "alarm clock free for iphone." The results appeared are vary. But the question is I don't know if these apps would drain down our iphones' batteries due to the fact that we must run the app through the night in order to show the digital clock and let it wake you up in the morning. Please help me answer this question. Appreciate it! 🙂

Very simple solution... Actually killing 2 birds with one stone..... Use the discipline "Head on Pillow, Phone on Charger" ie on a stand or in a dock which connects it to charging power. Then clock can be displayed all night, alarm will work, and you will start the day with a fully charged phone.
If the app forces the screen to stay on so that the time is displayed it will certainly drain the battery.
The built in alarm and 3rd party alarms should drain the battery no more than simply having the device powered on.
This shouldn't harm battery. Batteries have evolved so much that modern batteries that apple is using have minimum to null memory effect.
Other 3rd partY app that doesn't drain battery much is smart Alarm. If you switch on the app and put the phone on surface facing down.. It would allow screen to go blank dark hence saving battery. Also does so much more than just alarm.
I do not get commission from smart alarm developer. Just a happy customer.
Thanks for the great hints! I always thought that charging Iphone over night might harm its batt so i never charge it at night. Also, i have read an article in this page, and it said that we should drain down our batt until it automatically shut down monthly, it will help our batt last longer. Is it correct?
I have used the phone ( and my BlackBerry in the past ) as a clock, with alarm when and if needed in this fashion for years. ( pretty much all my phones since Lithium ion batteries became the norm, in lieu of NiCad or NiMh ) .... Never had a problem and the original factory battery usually outlived the phone. Battery does get exercised with use in the day, and charge cycles ( the criterion specified for battery life) are significantly reduced. I suspect one of the 'requirements' to run the battery wayyyyyy down has something to do with re calibrating the battery gauge , but I personally have never had battery life issues with any phone ( maybe just pure luck, but ..... ). Also, here in the Caribbean, where power black outs aren't uncommon, its nice to know your trusty cell is charged .... When the power goes out, it may be 20 min or 4 hrs..... So if/when that happens , I turn off Bluetooth and wifi right away. With modem & router unpowered, thus no wifi, it will help conserve battery by preventing phone from searching for a signal which ain't there :-)

I guess I should add that I use "Free Alarm Clock" from "The Alarm Clock Company" and it is excellent. I think I remember ( after I downloaded it ) opting for a 'no ads version' with cost 99 cents ......
I wish it would allow the phone to sleep when on battery power but no such luck, so phone stays in dock on nightstand. Maybe ( hope ?? ) iOS 7 will have a bedside mode , like BlackBerry, but ..... We shall see !

I use the build in alarm feature and it works fine and does not drain the batt so don't see why 3th party ones would
Charge the phone as much or as little as you want, whenever you want, regardless of it's state of charge. It is impossible to overcharge the battery.
but this will harm your batt
It always better to let drain fully once in a while.
