Records to iPod material

Ok- So I want to transfer some old gramaphone records to my iPod, via my ibook. What do I need ?

ibook 12 inch, Mac OS X (10.4)

The device featured looked very similar to something I purchased in the states a couple of years back. It had a big G stamped on the front. So I downloaded the software for the iMic and guess what- IT WORKS. ! Just trying to work out how I seperate the tracks that I have downloaded of a record as at the moment 8 tracks are listed as one.

I use Toast, which comes with "CD Spin Doctor"
It allows you to put an analog connection into your Mac and record tapes, vinyl, etc.
Toast alone is worth the price, but CD Spin Doctor is great for this purpose - which I use a lot.
