How do i change my computer's name

How do I change my computer's name? I have already changed it in Preferences - Sharing, but I still get the name of my daughter in the file://localhost/Users/monicaoliveros/Desktop/Screen%20Shot%202013-06-01%20at%2 010.44.39%20PM.png

This is not the Computer Name. This is an account short name. You are using your daughter's account, not your own account. Create a new admin user account in your name and password. Log into the new account. Delete your daughter's account.

If you have data and files in your daughter's account you need to transfer into your new account, then see Transferring files from one User Account to another.

I have already created a new user to my name as an administrator, I have set it up to log to my name, I have changed the account's name to my name, I have restarted the computer, but, the home directory (Advanced options at users to my name) continues being /Users/monicaoliveros and therefore the "little house icon" in Finder continues appearing to the name of Monicaoliveros instead of my name, what is rather annoyting, The sharing name of the computer was also changed to my name, ubt that oesn't change anything. The name of my daughter does not even appear anymore in the login options.

I am afraid that if I cannot change this Home Directory's name. If I cannot change the name, the only solution might be to create a new directory, in other words, big mess.

Anything I can do short of reinstallng the operating systen and redoing the computer ???? (I have enough things to do)

Then you are not actually logging into your new account, but into your daughter's account. What version of OS X are you using, btw?

Open Accounts or Users & Groups preferences. In the users list on the left how many accounts are listed? One should be for your daughter. A second should be Guest. Is there a third account that you created?

It is bound to show my daughter's name in the HOme directory because I have not changed its name (if I do, the computer will get lost unless make a change to a new one, which would mean a big operation). This Home Directory appears by clicking the right Mouse botton in User Luis Oliveros, the account I am logged in

I'm completely lost. In reality you have to user accounts: yours and your daughter's. When you look in the /Users/ folder at the root of the hard drive there are two folders. One looks like a standard folder. The other has a "house" icon. The latter is the currently logged in account. Under each folder is the account name. Whose name is under the "house" folder?
