Jun 1, 2013 9:09 PM in response to swtvt712by LaPastenague,★HelpfulYou can still use the Time Capsule but not at the same time as the wifi for internet. This is expected due to the wireless client not being able to connect to more than one WAP (wireless access point) at the time.
So simply swap to TC when you want to backup.. but then you cannot use internet.
The solution if you want to have both at once is use ethernet to the TC and wireless for internet. You can do both at once then.
See end of this thread for the setup which i have given all the screen shots for.

Jun 1, 2013 10:42 PM in response to LaPastenagueby swtvt712,I was quite confused by the discussion on that thread (see I warned you that I was not tech savvy). Anyway, I connected my TC to my computer using ethernet (moving the ethernet connection from the WAN port to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule). Back up seems to work and I am able to use my wifi, but my TC now flashes amber. I think it's because the WAN port is not in use and my time capsule was initially set up as a router. Is that bad to leave it blinking amber? I don't want to reset the TC as I may change my mind later if the lobby's wifi proves to be unreliable. Thanks

The flashing amber is indeed simply to tell you what you already know.. there is no WAN connection.. just select ignore in the airport utility and it will stop it. ... flashing amber is not going to do any harm except to your senses which suggest it is bad.. a piece of black tape is usually the best solution.
