I'm using a shared computer

and I need to get the pictures that I imported out of the "last import" and photostream of the computer I am using. I would like to keep the pictures in an album. Do I have to completely remove my pictures from the computer? I'm not really sure how to use iPhoto and the person that I'm sharing the laptop with is kind of familiar but not advanced. I understand that the "last import" isn't so much an album but i quick reference. I'm not quite sure the person that I'm sharing with understands that, and it's that persons computer not mine. Is there a way to just create a file on the desk top or something so I can take my pictures out of iPhoto to keep them separate? I know, lots of questions. I would appreciate the help, sorry for being a Mac newbie, but I'm a total convert 🙂
