Dazzle HD compatible with MAC?

Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of buying a Dazzle DVD Recorder plus, to copy old VHS tapes to my mac. My question is, are dazzle's compatible with mac and will I be able to use the video files with iMovie/final cut?

Unfortunately, no. The Dazzle is a cheap, Windows-oriented device that leaves a lot to be desired, even on Windows. It promises a lot more than it can deliver, and is a waste of money.

To record/copy your VHS tapes on a Mac with good quality and edit them in iMovie or Final cut you need an analog-digital converter like the Grass Valley ADVC-110. Alternatively, if you have a miniDV camcorder that supports analog-digital passthrough (most do) you can use it as the converter instead.
