I have some folders that display resolution and dimensions of photo files. Others don't. I can't seem to see any differences in the view options. How do I get folders to display resolution and dimensions?

Does not:

The resolution (among others) is a contextual sorting option. If some of the files in the given folder have the resolution info stored in their metadata, then OS X will make it available as a sorting option for that folder. If not, then this option will not be available.
You can invoke this sorting option bu right-clicking the "Name", "Kind", or "Size" fields in the window, provided you do not have it set to automatically sort (ie, set to "None" in the View > Arrange By menu).
