Itunes doesn't play videos properly. Help!

When I attempt to play movies/tv-shows (ones purchased/rented via the store) in Itunes, the audio/video sync is off and the video plays very slowly, sometimes way behind or sometimes speeding up. Same thing for Quicktime. Now obviously, I can't try out the file in something like VLC because other media will not play .M4V files. So, anyone have an idea what could be wrong making the videos so un-playable? It would be nice to be able to play what I have purchased.

*I don't know if this helps but I am a windows 7 user.

I have this problem as well I Played the same exact videos on quicktime and it worked fineso i think its just something with itunes and i know apple has had problems with this for a while now i havent figured out how to fix it though and ive read the article that suppossed to help but it didnt
