my iPhone 5 cracked inside my lifeproof case! then I continued to use it, I ran a water test & it worked fine. took it in no less than 3 feet & then came back on & is now suffering from battery damage. i don't have AppleCare! what to do? :( I've already had my phone replaced under warranty because my 3G wouldn't work. I just got this phone around march. I'm paranoid.

Can contact AppleCare and pay the Accidental Damage fee and replace it
or find a Cert, iPhone repair place - however keep in mind by going to these places your warranty [if still within warranty] will be voided after doing so

If you had the phone in a LifeProof case, I would suggest that you contact them about their guarantees. If they guarantee their case will protect your iPhone, then they should have some way to replace it should the case fail to perform.
Aside from that, Without Apple Care or Apple Care+, you are looking at an Out of Warranty repair since your screen is cracked. THat would be about $199 USD depending upon which model oPhone you have.
