Can't open iTunes. Any suggestions on how to fix?

The statement comes up: The file "iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Any suggestions how to fix?

As a preliminary step, I would suggest that you uninstall all of the iTunes components and reinstall them on your PC. We have an article that can explain the process to you, and it can be found right here:

This will ensure that you have the absolute latest version of iTunes installed on your computer. There is a possibility that you might need to recreate your iTunes library if the previous step doesn't work, and there is an article on how to do that which can be found here:
