Undefined offending command LaserWriter 16/600 PS ...

Hi,

I have a LaserWriter 16/600 PS printer connected to a small LAN network at home. I have been using this printer for many years and also with my actual Intel iMac.

With that printer, I print only checks with magnetic ink, so I only print once in a while. Today I wanted to print as usual and was not able to get it running. The only outpout that I finally got is:

ERROR: undefined

OFFENDING COMMAND : ma

STACK:

false

I don't understand what is wrong. Is it because of a software upgrade that I made since last printing ... or a modification to my cables that somebody did ?

Could one of you help me with this one ?

The question I always asked business owners was this:

'How fast can you get back to yesterday?'

Any time you make an upgrade, you should keep an escape route available so you can go back to what you had the day before.

Do you have a backup drive that you could boot from or an install CD that might let you boot without the upgrades? I would start with that approach first.

All is back to normal ...

Time passing, the printer finally printed the last job ... and everything is back to normal. I think it could be related to my other HP network printer. After the head cleaning procedure, I seem to notice that my LaserWriter was freed of something and that it let the print job go through. Not sure ... only an impression.

That also occured after a power failure ... What did it, I am not really sure. But it OK now.

Thanks for your help.
