Jun 2, 2013 1:04 PM in response to Kevin567-icloudby pvonk,Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage
From there you can find how much and which files are in a backup, and how much different apps use to store data files. At the bottom of the screen is the size of the mail storage.

Jun 2, 2013 1:07 PM in response to pvonkby Kevin567-icloud,Actually I found the solution:
I recently upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion (on a new drive because my old HD crashed and burned!), and upon setting up my user account, I mistakenly associated my login with an Apple ID (System Prefs -> Users -> [My username] -> Apple ID.
Once I disassociated my user account the my Apple ID, logged out and back in, my email was fine again.
It was not easy to find the answer but someone mentioned it in a post in passing and that turns out to be the solution!
