Does "erase all content and settings" in reset clear safari web history on ipad 2?

HEy. I was just wondering? Please be truthful.

Maybe I am not explaining this properly for you.


If you have a backup that contains the history and someone restores from that backup, then they can restore the Safari history because it will be in that backup.


Here is what you can do to remove that backup and still have a recent backup. Delete the Safari History ...Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Then backup the iPad after that. Backup manually. That will overwrite the last backup that contained the history and it will be impossible to retrieve the Safari History.


I don't know if you ever backup or know how to backup, but this will instruct you on how to backup with iTunes or with iCloud.

Restoring from a backup will restore the Safari History, if you have a backup with that Safari History in it.


If you want to delete the Safari History because there is something in there that you don't want anyone to see, as long as you don't let them restore from a backup that contains the Safari History, they cannot retrieve the history from the device itself.


If you want privacy when you use Safari go to Settings>Safari>Private Browsing>On. None of the browsing history will be retained.
