Sound from the 30 pin adapter

Hi

I am highly limited by my car's Kenwood stereo input options. It has a male connection for the iPhone 4s (and below) 30-pin adapter (just like a desktop dock would).

Has anyone successfully used adapters to send sound either throught a mini headphone jack or micro USB output through the 30 pin adapter and into the stereo?

The simple solution of a mini Aux female input does not exist.

I've looked at various configurations of adapters on eBay and Amazon. There doesn't seem to be a clear path.

I'd rather learn from someone elses wisdom, than my own mistakes.....to much swearing for the neighborhood.

Thanks

I was able to solve the problem with the device bought on Amazon I can play music from the headphone jack. I need to turn the volume all the way up on the phone for the Kenwood to acknowledge the sound. Set the Kenwood in ipod control by hand.

I tried to upload a photo, but had problems.

The device is "3.5 mm to 30-pin Dock." Made/Sold by ProCable, Radtech. MPN-13-300. The dock side is female and connects to the Kenwood 30-pin male end ipod adapter cable.

Hi

Thanks for the input

Here's the messy part of the problem.

I scoured the Kenwood site and even called Kenwood. My options are limited and there are errors in their own schematics on the actual inputs on the back of the unit. It is a DX6980.

Many on the Kenwood forums have had similar frustrations.

I would have to tear out the stereo to get to the Aux input in the rear of the Kenwood unit.

I'd prefer to do the adapter on the driver side, as opposed to going into the back of the unit.

Also, I prefer to use my vintage iPod Video for music. My wife wants to use her Galaxy 4s for music.

The Kenwood won't let me connect the phone as a Bluetooth Audio device, only as a Bluetooth phone.

Believe me as a loyal Mapple owner since the II+, I wish I didn't have to ask this question.

Yes, I checked that same link. Dead end too, all on the Kenwood side.

I think I was pretty clear in my initial question about what I want to do.

Yup. If one reads the feedback, it is entirely negative on the app. Consisten with my experience, when I tried it. It is a Kenwood issue. Their technicians admit on the phone they don't bother to keep up with advances on the peripherals, like our phones. I can't use my iphone 5 at all with the unit. I've learned to live with disappointment from them.

Apple users are a bit more ingenious at finding workarounds, so I am hoping to achieve this with a chain of adapters on the 30-pin end.
