My DVD/CD reader is getting worse at recognising CDs and DVDs - it now won't recognise my brand new Panasonic manual PFD CD.
Is this hardware? my MAC book is about 4 years old - or is there a way to clean the DVD slot?

You can buy a cd/dvd lens cleaning kit from any electronic store like Staples.

If all else fails to get your Superdrive working properly, you can always save money on repairs,by just picking up an external USB DVD/CD writer for about $30 US and use that when you need to work with CD's.
Is not reading lots of CDs now....getting to be a big problem
