I have installed TextExpander and TypeIt4Me. Neither of them are expanding the abbreviations. They used to work before I had a lightening storm that blew out my logic board. Apple replaced the board and I had to reset the PRAM. Ever since then, the text expanding does not work.
Any ideas?
Make sure you turn on Access for assistive devices in the System Preferences.
Also, some apps don't play by Apple's rules on proper use of Secure Event Input. This includes some versions of Chrome and 1Password.
I also sent you a list of troubleshooting tips via email.

It's possible that an application on your system is holding secure input enabled when it should not be doing that. For more detail, including a list of the ususal suspects, please see here:

You have not actually said that this is On or whether it is staying On if you have to set it.
You also have not said if you have worked through the list of links in the link Greg from TextExpander posted
I use TextExpander 2.8.1 in Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.4 without any problems.
The posters here will need specific feedback as to what you are seeing to be able to help further.
I would start myself with opening Disk Utility in Applications/Utilities and Repairing Permissions.
After that I might check that I still owned the Preferences folder where the info might be held.
