Q: Are photos included in iCloud? I updated my storage to 15GB (10GB extra), and it is still saying that I have no free storage.

I updated my storage to 15GB (10GB extra), and it is still saying that I have no free storage.

When I try to back it up to iCloud on my computer (I thought this was how you get the storage I am owed), even though I have selected to upload to iCloud, it says that my last update was a month ago. However, it says it was backed up to my computer (I definitely have it on the "Backup to iCloud" setting)

Thanks

The problem could be that you don't have enough storage on the device itself, not on iCloud.  Go to Settings>General>Usage to see how much "Storage" you have available on the device.  Farther down the list is the available storage on iCloud.

    Also check:

Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backups>Manage Storage; there, tap the device you need info on and the resulting screen lists Backup Options with which apps store data on iCloud as well.

A device needs many MB of storage in order to perform a backup to iCloud.

Device storage says I've got 319MB free. I imagine this is the problem, and I don't have a problem with the iCloud?

Is there anyway I can transfer the storage from the device to my iCloud account? Is that what a backup is? (I'm technologically inept, I do apologise)

    Thanks

Your device has physical storage which you cannot add to.  You'll need to begin deleting things off the device to make room on it.  Usually video and photos are two things that take up a lot of space.

And you should always be syncing these to a computer for archiving anyway.  Once doing that, you can remove them from the device.
