Q: iPhone to Android iMessage bug fix

I was having the problem when i switched from my iPhone to my Galaxy s4 where people using iPhones would try to text me and it wouldn't get to me because it would be sent in iMessage. Well i asked one of my friends who knows a lot about Apple products and he seems to have found a fix. What worked for me is to open iTunes, then go to account. Once there find the the section "iTunes in the cloud" and the option in there "Manage my devices". You have to go in there and remove your iPhone from the iCloud and that should work, or at least it did for me.

    It's simple.

Having to request all your friends/colleauges go through that process isn't very realistic, especially when some of them can barely operate their phones to begin with. Plus, it's completely unprofessional to request business clients to do that for you. Yes, it can work, but it's by no means simple.

This is such a rediculous problem. I've gone through every single 'fix' for this and it still doesn't work. Things I've done:

Turned off iMessage and Find my Phone on my old iPhone

Deleted my number from my Apple support profile

Deleted my phone from my iCloud account

Texted Stop to 48369 and got a reply that I wouldn't get iMessages

Unregistered my iPhone on my Apple account

Called Apple support a few times and confirmed that I was removed from the iMessage server

Had friends delete my contact and text conversation, made sure SMS was on

    Nothing works.

I am glad to see the class action lawsuit.  We shall see how long your post stays up.  I'm thinking not long, i've had posts get taken off this board before.  I also encourage everyone to do all of the steps (which will not help because Apple is doing this on purpose to punish us leaving their fold) and when they don't work, which they won't.....file with the Federal Trade Commision as well.  I am now going to talk with an attorney as well, to see how class action suits work and see what kind of ground swell needs to happen in order to prosecute one.  I'm willing to find an attorney who works for percentage to join this movement to sue.

Remember, there are many of us who closed everything out before switching and many of us who have called Applecare etc.....I had my number removed and still do not get group texts and occasionally do not get Iphone users texts on a single basis.  They say that randomly their texts revert back to imessage for me and do not alert them that the text has not gone through.  Apple (and all the fanboys out there) can deny this all they want but sooner or later, just like every other mass corporate scam, there will be a reckoning.  I just need to move my $$$ out of Apple stock before it all gets messy.

Ok, my friend finally figured out a fix. Anyone who still can't text you, have them log into their icloud account on the web (icloud.com) and delete your contact from there and then re-add. Apple really needs to come up with a better system. When I switched it wasn't on bad terms but after this ordeal I'd never go back to an iPhone. Total garbage.

if they are monitering our conversations on the forums

they should at least let us know that they are aware of the problem, and are working on a fix.

i nearly lost my job because of this. my boss was convinced that i was ignoring her messages

The minimum is to at least let a person know that his/her message was not delivered!

I had a nightmare last night. My computer died and right after I realized that fact, it opened up and said last words:

"All that stuff that you did with my help, you aint doing it no more."

And now after that ordeal, I do not know if I can buy Windows computer anymore.

i cant say whether or not the humorous conspiracy theory is true or not because i have no proof either way. but i can say that for some people the steps DO work. so ur post is false and should be pointed out as so.

Actually, the fix DOES NOT work for people.  What seems to work best, and maybe you should post this as your suggestion "wait 45 to 60 days and then MOST OF THE TEXTS will come through".  It is an F Shop and it is because of Apple.  And I still do not get texts randomly (complaint only for Iphone owners)...there is no real fix, it might be if I'm a 13 year old girl who doesn't mind randomly missing some texts then sure it "feels" like a fix.  I wonder if your car cut out at stop lights randomly two or three times a week or so, AFTER the dealer "fixed" it.....would you say its fixed?  Or that your car works?  Not sure you would.  So the most truthful thing to say is "there is no fix, there are some things that might improve it".  But as an Android user I would say that is not good enough.  And the silly thing is I can't leave Apple....if this was my provider's issue I could leave them (actually here in Texas its legal to do so if they can't provide consistent service)...I've already left Apple.  And as far as "humorous conspiracy" I would say its just as humorous that you believe Apple is completely innocent.  How is it that a company has created such a following of zombies that something that is clearly an issue and fanboys can't see it?  That koolaid must be good.

Sadly, as many people have said on here, I own other Apple products, but I'm not such a follower that I want to live in denial about a very large companies intent to grow their market share.  Without forums and blogs most people (and some who don't do research probably do) blame the droid......pretty easy way to poison the well of a competitor.  I could be wrong, but so could you.

    Hi Mike Hamilton (mike90909090),
Thanks for participating in Apple Support Communities.
We removed your post Re: iPhone to Android iMessage bug fix because it was nontechnical or off-topic. We understand wanting to share experiences, but these forums are meant for technical questions that can be answered by the community.

They are monitoring these forums because here is what you get when they remove the posts.....and my post was nothing different than some of the other things posted on here......although I did reference the fact that Steve Jobs was dead and so is Apple ingenuity.........maybe that went too far..........................

There is a difference between buying a SH*TTY product like windows and have it crash because its crap and a company who designs a communication platform that will render another device that you have purchased useless in some of its capacity....apples (haha) and oranges.......

now a true Apple to Apple example is that you bought a Honda and traded in your Ford and the way Ford designed their car is in such a way that your Honda won't run 50% of the time for 45 to 60 days and then randomly your Honda will cease to work every week or two............what would you say about Ford "fromsouth"?

I would say that if Ford had "on star" feature that is not available on the Honda and you still kept pressing those buttons that looked like the the one that use to connect you to "on star" guys and expected them to connect you I d wish you a best of luck.

I think that only very uneducated person can call Windows bad in any way, it still drives 95% of computers in the World and does it sucessfully. I also think that only person with ridiculous sense of entitlement will 1. blame Honda for not having on star 2. blaming Ford for not allowing Honda to have "on star" or 3.  thinking that if you press same looking buttons it has to be the same.
