My gift card won't redeem

When I redeem my girft card it goes through the process of redeeming the card. When I type in my password the box goes away and then the page stays the same, there is no box that says that the code is wrong or doesn't flip back to the home page of Itunes. All there is on the screen is a red box around the code and words that say, "Please enter your ID and password to redeem your code. If you don't have an acount, click Create Acount" I know that the code I put in was right and I did put in my ID and password.
