My daughter has forgotten her password to her ipod touch and the power button is broken. How do I enter DFU mode when we haven't connected it to a itunes on a computer in the country we are in?
BTW, I don't know her operating System but I assume it is the latest (6.1.3)

Place the iPod in recovery mode using this program:

I tried this but my MacBook Pro wouldn't recognise the iPod was in because it said I needed to enter the password. Thank you for replying though.
What happens when your use Tiny Umbrella to get the iPod in recovery mode as I said in my previous reply?
All of the options at the top were greyed out and this error appeared at the top of the page.

I'm sorry for bring a burden but nothing in the FAQ is helping. O consider myself quite adept with compuer programs but this stumps me. Below are the only screens I can access:
I would try on another computer, A windows one would be nice since I know RecBoot works.
Alos:
- Try another cable
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
I currently don't have access to a windows computer but will soon. I'll get back to you on the weekend to tell you how it went.
It turns out that RecBoot is available for Mac and is very easy to use. Literally one click to fix. Thank you heaps, you've really helped us out alot!
