Using Safari 6.0.4

Question

Using Safari 6.0.4

Clicking on a link that leads to a PDF page leads to a dark screen. Safai does not open up such pages. I do not understand why. This was one of the reasons I began to use Chrome. I still want to be able to use Safari. Any helpful advice?

iMac (24-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.5), 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

If you have Adobe stuff in your folder /Library/Internet Plug Ins, try moving it out of there and restarting Safari.
