Q: Music not downloaded to iPod

Are you trying to sync the msic from your iTunes library?

Purchase from iTunes?

After I followed the instructions (open itunes/file/add folder to library), I plugged in the ipod and it did the syncing thing - just not all, obviously.

Make sure you have the right boxes checked to sync the music you want synced. It sounds like you do not have that done correctly. See:

I have a similar problem : Ipod Classic (late 2009)  with OSX 10.4.11  

I loaded a CD onto my Mac and set ipod to sync. App froze.  After reset, restart, restore of ipod and restart of Mac I am left with an ipod that is wiped clean and WILL sync on my Toshiba laptop but that's not where my music is!

I am not able to update my Mac to update to the most current version of ITunes. 

I am still trying to figure out why the PC laptop itunes syncs but not the Mac.

Please help me out

Not sure why you cant update your Mac but last night there was a software update that fixed my problem.  I was unable to sync any new music but it worked after I updated the new software.
