Q: If it ask for a password

I want to "erase all content and settings" but it ask me for a password and I don't know it. How do I restore it if doesn't know the password?

iPhone 3GS, iOS 6.1.3

Then you need to restore from recovery mode by following the steps in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 and may need to do that more than once to succeed.
