my battery indicator says its full and its not coming on help , no sound no nothing

Hello my name is Billie and I have a Mac Pro 09 and I was writing on my notes on my computer while I was in the car. I closed my computer and then when I got home I put it on my desk pressed the button and nothing. No sound, no disk spin, no sleep light... it wouldnt come on at all. I looked up a forum about a similar situation and it said to make sure that the battery life isnt just so dead that it wont come on. Sooooo...I pressed the button the side and all the lights come on!! So i have a "dead macbook fully charged pro". I am out of my warranty, I paid $1300 for this computer this can't be happening to me right now!! Does anyone know what I can do???

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Hi Billie!

An SMC reset might help, but doesn't sound like a power problem to me. I'd make sure the machine is OFF first thing by holding power button down for 5+ seconds. Then try resetting PRAM: Press power button momentarily and IMMEDIATELY press and hold Command+Option+P+R keys until you hear startup tone 3 times. If that doesn't do it (and SMC reset doesn't work), c'mon back and we'll try something else.

Hope it's problem solved.
