Q: Mac keeps randomly freezing

Until yesterday my 2012 13" MacBook Pro has been working perfectly. Now it freezes and all that doesn't freeze is the spinning beach ball whenever I open a program and at random intervals throughout general use. It happens even when the CPU usage is very low (sub 5%) and with lots of ram free (5+gb). It's really annoying and makes the computer very frustrating to use. Any help is much appreciated.

    I am having huge freezing/beeping/crashing problems with my mac....any ideas...here's the Etresoft. I would be extremely grateful...

    Hi John, I have been quietly watching as this thread grows longer and longer since July.

     

    Just as an update on my step backwards down to 10.8.1, I have not had one moment of a hint of lagging, slowing down or freezing since then. With all the same apps, browsers etc, all up to date, except the OS.

     

    I am not convinced the problematic code is on my mac, I believe it is with the OS.

     

    I have had a Mavericks install flash drive since the release, maybe I will give this a try

    it paniced in Dropbox, due to corrupt synchonization primitives, with this reason:

     

    Possible memory corruption

     

    You should take that suggestion seriously and test the memory.

    MyEyEMac please start a new discussion, thanks. Gamermjs's problem was hardware related; yours may or may not be.

     

    I am not convinced the problematic code is on my mac, I believe it is with the OS.

     

    Millions of others with the same OS don't have the problems you describe. Those that do have successfully addressed them, including the OP.

     

    As I wrote earlier your problem has not been solved, only deferred.

     

    This is the second time I asked you to start your own Discussion and there will not be a third. Given your reluctance to participate in solving your problem, I can only assume you are not interested in doing so.
