Has any one else been charged by netflix AND itunes store?

Hi, I have been debited £5.99 from both Netflix AND i tunes for a Netflix subscription every month for the past 5 months and have never noticed until now! Mainly because i tunes debited 5 sometimes 10 days later ???😕 Both deductions were made on the same Bank acccount and using same email address/ apple ID. When I tried to resolve the issue and seek reimbursement I was banded between the 2 companies Apple and Netflix both blaming each other (Not very cost effective being put on hold to an American Company calling from Britain) only to discover Apple could only reimburse a back payment of 60 days????


Very disapointed in apple as I subscribed for Netflix through i tunes......


Anyone else been charged twice for 1 product?

First of all, it seems you must have subscribed to Netflix's servers at one time. Then you created a second subscription, which was through iTunes.


What you should do is stick to one or the other. You can cancel your iTunes subscription to Netflix here:

I know this is an old thread - but trying to put new information out there in case someone else is bit by Netflix like me. Just found out they were charging me twice a month for the last 3 years. Didn't catch it because i have several subscriptions through itunes and it hits my account as one lump sum payment.


I created my Netflix account before getting a apple TV. Once I received my apple TV I installed the Netflix app and Hulu and created accounts. At this point my Netflix account (old through the website) and my Netflix account (new through the iTunes subscription) used the exact same email. They then proceeded to charge me for both for 3 years. The accounts never synched together as one.


Today Netflix (2 supervisors in and literally alll of my payal statements emailed to them) stated "we can see you have been paying twice and we cannot see where the other money from iTunes has been going". They even had me log into my devices and watch me stream video to ensure my laptop, samsung smart tv, and apple tv were all streaming from the same account -- they were good. There appears to be some phantom account out there with iTunes that I am paying for. I confirmed with iTunes that they do create unique Ids or anything when you set up your netflix on their products.


I am demanding a refund for my $265. We'll see how it goes...

Yea I had thought that a double subscription was the only possibility but im positive I only subscribed once, I cant see why I would do it a second time, unless it was the mrs! 😕


Have canceled both subscriptions anyway and will start afresh subscription down the line. I did contact apple and netflix via live chat, both very helpful but unable to offer solutions, which was when netflix told me to call them....I took the bait! You live you learn.
