Which colour LASER printer for booklet & duplex printing best compatible with ML??

If I were to buy a new colour LASER printer, capable of BOOKLET- & DUPLEX-printing and fully compatible with Mountain Lion for a small business office (located inside my reseidence), which brand & model should I go for..?!

I have been disappointed by my old HP LaserJet 1600, not at all supported for any Mac Os X by HP: in the past this printer was almost adequately functioning with the OS X drivers for another model (drivers for HP LaserJet 2600). After OS X Updates, my own printer became graduall less and less compatible with the drives installed (for the 2600 model, instead of the physically present 1600): logos are no longer printed and shaded backgrounds are printed and opaque black pages..!..:-(

The printer's ability to print BOOKLETS and in DUPLEX mode is critical for my office.

Please help witn a good piece of advice.

I was going to recommend a office level multifunction copier with a saddle finisher. These devices can double staple and then fold the booklet for you. But they probably cost more than you are wanting to pay.

So if you are prepared to manually staple and fold the booklet, then the Brother HL-4570CDW laser printer has some good reviews. Here is one review from Macworld USA.

I have had the Phaser 6300 for several years, and just recently replaced it with Phaser 6600. Duplex printing works great. I use it all the time.

When I have needed to print booklets it has always been from InDesign, using ID's "make booklet" feature, and that has worked very well (because it has more controls). But I have also created booklets using the Mac drivers without incident.

Neither of my Xerox Phaser printers has ever failed me.

You mentioned some office-level multifunction copier, though, costing more: which one would that be?

The new imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2225 with the Booklet Finisher-M1. This finisher will fold and saddle-stitch your booklet on the fly for up to 5 sheets of A4 paper - making a 20 page booklet. And the printer driver for OS X will re-order the pages in your document so you don't have to get the page order correct before you send the print job.
